News Items

> We are happy to share the newly released Journal Citation Reports 2016 impact factor for Information Technology for Development, the official journal of SIG GlobDev. The new 2-year impact factor is 1.333. The less-quoted 5-year IF is 1.607 – a good indicator of the direction we’re heading in. Much high quality research first presented at SIG GlobDev sponsored workshops, conferences, and conference tracks is published in revised and enhanced form in this journal.

> SIGGlobDev is proud to announce that two of our own members have recently been honored nationally for their commitment to promoting diversity in business higher education. Kenneth E. Kendall, Distinguished Professor of Management in the School of Business-Camden, and his wife, Julie E. Kendall, also a Professor of Management in the School of Business-Camden, at Rutgers University, have been inducted into the PhD Project Hall of Fame in recognition of their positive leadership and significant impact within the Project's network of minority business doctoral students and faculty. Ken and Julie have worked with the PhD Project since 1996 when the information systems doctoral student association began. The PhD Project promotes diversity by mentoring African American, Hispanic American, and Native American business professionals who pursue their doctorates and become business professors.....more

>We are pleased to share the great news that our Special Interest Group on ICT and Global Development has been recognized with the designation Outstanding SIG for the 2016 reporting year. This is the second year in a row that our SIG has been so recognized by AIS for our contributions toward supporting the mission of AIS through the advancement of knowledge and the promotion of excellence in the practice and study of information systems. – Congratulations to all of you!
